Top 5 Fairy-tale Retelling

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1)   Cruel Beauty   Of Beast and Beauty

Ash   The Forestwife Trilogy
Ok, so technically I haven't finished Cinder yet...but I'm 50 pages off, and I can already tell it deserves to be on this list. Cruel Beauty, was one of my favorite books from last year and has quite a different spin on the Beauty and the Beast tale. Same with Of Beast and Beauty, which is next on my list. Then I have Ash, which I flew threw when I read it. It had some interesting elements, and threw in some LGBT themes as well. Now my last one I haven't seen on anyone's list which is The Forestwife Trilogy, which is a retelling of the story of Maid Marian from Robin Hood.

Top 5 Fairy-tale Retelling on my TBR

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)

Crimson Bound The Wrath and the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn, #1)    Tiger Lily

It goes without saying that I want to read the rest of the books in The Lunar Chronicles. But in addition to those, A Court of Thorns and Roses, is high on my list. Along with Crimson Bound, The Wrath and the Dawn and Tiger Lily which I have hear really great things about.

What is your favorite fairy-tale retelling?

  1. Cinder (and the rest of the Lunar Chronicles) is by far my favorite. Marissa just... manages it so well! Ash looks interesting - gotta check it out!

  2. Ahh this is definitely a week made for The Lunar Chronicles and I cannot believe I still haven't read those books yet. I'm glad you enjoyed Cinder! A Court of Thorns and Roses is an amazing book! I 100% recommend it and I think you'd really enjoy it. You've got an amazing list here <3

  3. I'm so glad you're enjoying Cinder! The Lunar Chronicles is my absolute favorite series at the moment, hand in hand with Raven Cycle (Maggie Stiefvater). Winter is definitely my most awaited book for this year. I really really loved Cruel Beauty as well, the romance was to die for! Crimson Bound wasn't quite as good but it wasn't a bad book either, so maybe this was partly the fault of my HUGE expectations.
    Lovely list. :)

  4. Such a great list. I highly recommend you read ACOTAR, that book is so good (although anything Sarah J. Maas writes is insanely good). The Wrath and the Dawn is very high on TBR list atm.
