Feature and Follow (3)

Here’s this week’s question:
Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us about a fun or fail scene in your current read.

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community.

Ok, so this past week I've been reading 'Scrap' by Emory Harplin, which I received from netgalley. I'm almost finished and it's been a great re-introduction to fantasy. I've mostly been reading contemporary romance lately, and have enjoyed getting back into fantasy. Anyway about the book... so there are a lot of fun scenes in the book and witty one liners, and the characters are very vibrant and easily lovable.

Napier grabbed his bag and joined them.:"..All is fair in war, after all".
     "Love and War" Colt corrected.
"Whatever." Napier rolled his eyes. "At least I can handle a bow".
Colt pulled his pack on " And I can't?"
"Please you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, if it was staring you in the face."
"The broad side of a barn?" Colt raised his brows. "You just mixed two entirely different expressions, Napier"
"No I didn't, it's a compound cliche. It's like skinning the cat with two stones". Napier shrugged. "I get a lot more said this way."

One scene, particular that I am a fan of (which was mentioned in my Teaser Tuesday feature) is when the main character Tucker, is introduced to a group of young gypsy boy, who think she is no more than a spoilt manor girl. What they don't realize is that she lived most of her life an orphan on the streets, so when they try and pick pocket her, she catches them. Then a a moment later reveals that she had pick-pocketed one of their rings without their knowledge. I like this scene because it's where the main character is first introduced to the gypsy Napier, who is obviously impressed with her skill and a great friendship forms.
